Jewish Family Service of Colorado is a nonprofit human services organization that serves anyone in need. They are seeking an intern for the KidSuccess Program, which provides school-based mental health therapy services to students, parents, and school staff in Denver Public Schools.

Responsibilities

An intern with the KidSuccess Program will provide individual, group, and/or family counseling to students and their families

Interns may also provide school-staff groups/trainings depending on the school's needs

Interns will be trained and supported in the following areas

A. Utilizing an electronic medical record for billing (Medicaid compliance)

B. Completing mental health assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and measure outcome tools

C. Creating treatment plans/objectives/goals

D. Completion of progress notes within the allocated time

Other responsibilities include consulting and collaborating with teachers, social workers, counselors, psychologists, nurses, and school administrators within the school setting

Additionally, I facilitate referrals to community agencies when appropriate, provide consultation for specific problems, and make referrals to therapists outside of school for evaluation or treatment when indicated

Interns will receive weekly hour-long individual supervision and small group supervision with all interns, along with weekly participation in KidSuccess Program team meetings

Interns will additionally have access to many continuing education courses throughout their internship to support them in learning additional interventions and skills

Interns and supervisors will work together to collaborate on goals around their internship, and interns will have access to therapists who provide a range of interventions/approaches
