Administration of the Department
Faculty governance
External partnerships for the Department
Collaborating with other campus entities, industrial and research stakeholders, and potential donors
Implementing strategic plans and priorities for advancing the Department's status in research and education
Managing the Department's eleven staff members
Allocating financial resources
Recruiting faculty and students
Evaluating faculty and staff performance
Guiding program accreditation assessments
Managing teaching resources
Maintaining an active research program
Contributing to teaching

Doctorate in Biomedical EngineeringAdministrative experienceLeadership skillsResearch portfolio developmentInterdisciplinary collaborationCommunity engagementVision articulationEthical commitment

Required

Doctorate in Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline
Excellent record with international visibility appropriate for the rank of Professor
Demonstrated leadership and administrative skills
Experience in consensus-building
Skills in engaging with community and campus stakeholders
Sufficient expertise to direct a multifaceted academic department
Ability to articulate and promote the Department's mission
Participatory management style
Personal integrity
Strong commitment to professional ethics
Experience working with students from a variety of backgrounds
Strong commitment to improving access to higher education for all students
