The role involves designing and developing training materials for the Power Generation utility industry and collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance.

Responsibilities

Design and develop instructor-led and on-the-job training for apprenticeships in the Power Generation utility industry

Develop learning materials for technical content, including hands-on practice activities, student guides, facilitator guides, scenarios, videos, assessments, simulations, and other instructional media

Perform a detailed task analysis for each job function, business process, or system for which training will be developed

Define learning objectives, and course structure aligned to stakeholder needs and to meet the constraints of the learning environment

Work under the direction of the Senior Instructional Designer to apply company standards, guidelines, and templates

Participate in milestone meetings with subject matter experts, including task analysis, alpha, beta, train the trainer, and pilot

Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation

Required

3 years' experience developing instructor-led training for technical skills; such as electrical utilities or related industries

Bachelor's degree in instructional design or education related areas of study

Skilled in instructional design methodologies and technical writing

Experienced in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams

Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables on time

Work closely with team and subject matter experts to proactively communicate concerns, issues and risks

Preferred

Experience with hydroelectric operations, mechanical engineering, or machining

Master's degree in instructional design or education related areas of study

Experience with QuestionMark, Author-It, and/or Articulate 360

Skilled in graphic design

Teaching experience

Previous Client Academy experience
