Responsibilities

Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Caroline and Grace Scholars curricula
Coordinate the Summer Bridge Program for first-year students, ensuring the seamless integration of these students into the University community
Collaborate with Deans, Chairs, and Faculty to ensure the alignment of curriculum with program goals and to address academic challenges faced by students
Teach the first-year course "Grace Scholars Seminar: Learning with Purpose" and other program-specific courses as needed
Teach the "Caroline Scholars Leadership Seminar" and other program specific courses as needed
Gather feedback from faculty and staff to continuously refine the academic aspects of both programs
Provide proactive, strengths-based advising to Caroline and Grace Scholars, meeting individually with students to offer guidance, academic support, and mentorship
Act as an advocate for students, helping them navigate university resources and address challenges related to academics, financial aid, and student affairs
Work closely with the Admissions Office to recruit incoming cohorts and develop strategies for the retention and persistence of scholars throughout their academic careers
Provide direct support in financial aid matters and work with the Business Office to ensure students have access to necessary resources
Cultivate partnerships with community organizations, corporations, and other stakeholders to increase service-learning opportunities, internships, and mentoring for students
Coordinate annual events, including student gatherings, celebrations, and alumni activities, ensuring engagement with both current and former scholars
Manage program budgets, operations, and resources, ensuring effective use of funds, particularly for grant implementation (Burke Foundation and other funding sources)
Prepare and submit all required reports to the Burke Foundation, coordinating with Institutional Research and Donor Relations to gather quantitative and qualitative data
Supervise program staff, including three Graduate Assistants, two full-time Program Advisors, two student workers, and three mental health counseling interns, ensuring effective program delivery and a supportive work environment

Required

Master's degree in education, Higher Education Administration, Public Service, Social Justice, or a related field
3-5 years of full-time experience working with diverse student populations, particularly and experience with retention best practices
Commitment to leadership development, inclusive excellence, and social justice in higher education
Strong organizational, communication (written and oral), and problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, administrators, community stakeholders and funders
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative in a dynamic environment
May be required to lift up to 20 lbs
Must reach, bend, stoop, lift
Must sit, walk or stand
Some repetitive motion may be required
Can be scheduled for up to 40 hours a week
Varying workflow; sometimes stressful with high workload times of the year
