Responsibilities

Technical Leadership: Serve as the lead over a team of engineers, directing mission requirements and overseeing technical implementations
Architectural Design: Design and implement hypervisor solutions (e.g., VMware ESXi, Hyper-V) and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) like VMware Horizon or Citrix
Performance & Capacity Management: Monitor CPU, memory, and storage utilization to ensure optimal performance and project future capacity needs
Disaster Recovery (DR): Design, deploy, and test High Availability (HA) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) virtual environments to ensure data integrity and availability
Escalation Management: Act as a senior-level escalation point for complex technical issues related to virtual machine performance, connectivity, and security
Automation: Drive efficiency by creating scripts and automation workflows using tools like PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or Ansible

Required

Advanced knowledge of VMware technologies (vCenter, vSAN, vSphere), Microsoft Hyper-V, or Nutanix
Proficiency in networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and storage solutions like SAN and NAS
Typically requires 3+ years of technical leadership experience and 8+ years in systems administration or engineering
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is standard
Valuable credentials include: VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
Valuable credentials include: Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization (CCP-V)
Valuable credentials include: Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP)
Valuable credentials include: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
