Responsibilities
Fulfill operational documentation duties for the desktops and other devices within the support spectrum of the primary duties of this position. Keep the Cross Function IT Support Supervisor apprised on all the operational documentational changes by ensuring the availability of said documentation
Provide desktop support, deployment, special projects, exceptional customer service in line with Transportation department goals and practices. Build new desktops according to AITS standards. Monitor warranty status to keep departments apprised for lifecycle planning
Assist the Cross Function IT Support Supervisor with backup restores, server maintenance, application implementations, and IT planning
OnCall during weekends, holidays, and off hours for systems and special events in Transportation
Assist the Cross Funct IT Support Supervisor in ensuring proper firewall and security operations for all systems within the primary area. Follow best practices guidelines to ensure security of all IT assets, including immediate installation of highly critical security patches or ensuring that proper workarounds are implemented. Work with the ITSS Information Security team to ensure proper security procedures
Work with contracted firms to deploy various IT solutions
Manage and assist the Cross Function IT Support Supervisor in the configuration and implementation of hardware and software installs
Study current trends related to relevant systems and system security
Ensure special project and nonrecurring assignments are carried out in professional and expeditious manner and with an acceptable level of quality
Assist the Cross Function IT Support Supervisor with Active Directory and Group Policy
Provide environmental/AV device support and management. Proactively address issues and respond to connectivity failures in a prompt manner
Other projects/tasks/duties as assigned by the Cross Funct IT Support Supervisor, Sr IT Support Manager, Director, and the AITS senior director
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in related field and four years of related computing work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role
Prior experience with specific systems, equipment and software may be specified as needed by department
Knowledge of principles of computing and communications networks, and characteristics of computing hardware and software used in distributed environment
Ability to operate computer keyboards and to install computer hardware
Ability to assimilate, retain and utilize technical and applications oriented information
Preferred
Knowledge and experience with application and package preparation and deployment using SCCM, Intune, JAMF or Group Policy
Practical experience with scripting and automation
Considerable experience developing both technical and end user support documentation
Prior experience with designing and deploying audiovisual and collaborative technologies
Working knowledge of the maintenance and operation of retail point of sale systems
Knowledge of basic electronics repair and maintenance
Experience collaborating with cross campus departments in Higher Education environment
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects
