Responsibilities

Manage HPC user accounts, group memberships, and access privileges following least privilege principles
Implement and enforce multi-factor authentication (MFA) for privileged and non-privileged accounts
Maintain personnel access control for virtual and physical HPC resources

Deploy and configure Slurm for workload and queue management
Implement HPC OnDemand for GUI-based job submission for less experienced Linux users
Maintain baseline configurations and enforce secure configuration settings
Install, upgrade, and maintain scientific software (e.g., BISON, MCNP, SCALE) and ensure compliance with licensing and export control
Maintain software verification and version control for nuclear software quality assurance
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to develop and maintain a Software Quality Assurance Plan (SQA)
Provide role-based security training for HPC users and administrators
Conduct awareness sessions on ITAR, export control, and insider threat indicators
Participate in incident response planning and testing
Monitor system for vulnerabilities and apply timely remediation
Coordinate with external colocation partners and vendors to ensure compliance with ITAR and CMMC security requirements
Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and compliance artifacts
Maintain audit logs and ensure proper retention per organizational policy

Strong experience with Linux-based HPC environments, Slurm, and cluster management tools
Knowledge of ITAR regulations, Export Control, and CMMC Level 2 security practices
Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171r3 security families: Access Control, Audit & Accountability, Configuration Management, Identification & Authentication, System & Communications Protection
Experience implementing FIPS-validated cryptography, MFA, and secure remote access
Ability to develop compliance documentation (SSP, POA&M) and support third-party assessments
Excellent communication skills for training and collaboration with internal teams and external partners

Preferred

Experience with nuclear simulation codes (BISON, MCNP, SCALE)
Familiarity with Supply Chain Risk Management and vendor compliance verification
Prior experience in regulated environments (DOE, DoD, or similar)
