Manager, Tax - Private Equity

The Manager of Tax - Private Equity will be responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing tax deliverables, and collaborating with clients and auditors to resolve tax-related issues.

Responsibilities

Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of the industry
Work collaboratively with clients and third party auditors in order to resolve tax related issues faced by clients
Manage private equity tax deliverables and client relationships, including preparation and review of tax estimates, year-end tax workpapers, and Schedule K-1s
Manage and train direct reports both locally and overseas and coordinate assignments
Review federal and state tax returns prepared by third party tax preparers
Review complex international tax forms, particularly Forms 8865, 8858, 8621 and 5471
Work on issues related to withholding tax and assist in the preparations of Form 8804, Form 8805, Form 1042, Form 1042-S; identify foreign/domestic status of partner(s) by analyzing Forms W-8BEN, W-8ECI, W-8IMY and/or W-9
Research federal, state, and international tax issues
Liaise with clients and their tax advisors on the preparation of partnership income tax returns
Liaise with Fund Accounting, Onboarding, Waterfall, and other Citco teams globally
Participate in technology automation, procedure development, and other special projects

Required

5+ years of relevant private equity tax experience with high volume operational environment
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
Knowledge of private equity structures
Knowledge of partnership accounting and allocations, including tax waterfalls
Experience with federal and state tax return compliance
Experience with managing and/or leading staff
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with high degree of attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong sense of ownership and accountability of work product
Strong Excel skills; knowledge of Investran a plus
