Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing the overall workflow and accuracy of audit activities in the department
Works closely with department management to identify audit candidates, manage auditor workload, and track department and individual progress against key performance indicators
Assists auditors with files, and reviews files for timeliness, accuracy, and completeness
Conducts payroll compliance audits including, but not limited to, Desktop and Authenticity audits
Negotiates complex allocation disputes, as directed by management and Trustees
Presents issues and disputed maters at review committee meetings with Trustees, Plan management, and external consultants
Liaises with Plans’ counsel and external auditors to manage disputes matters, evaluate options, and maximize recoveries
Identifies and implements process enhancements, and assists with testing system enhancements
Conducts research from databases and various sources to generate ad-hoc reports, as needed
Assists in the development and implementation of training programs for department staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field or Equivalent experience in a multi-employer, Taft-Hartley environment
Knowledge of basic accounting and audit principles
Knowledge of basic Collective Bargaining Agreements or ability to quickly gain knowledge
Specific knowledge of the sound recording and/or news and broadcast industry is a plus or ability to quickly gain knowledge
Knowledge of Taft-Hartley multi-employee pension and health plans or ability to quickly gain knowledge
Knowledge of Trust Agreements or ability to quickly gain knowledge
Knowledge of Audit and Collection Programs or ability to quickly gain knowledge
Knowledge of Eligibility and Pension Benefits or ability to quickly gain knowledge
Knowledge of the various computer applications (Oracle, Documentum, CCD, CMD, V3, etc.) or ability to quickly gain knowledge
Skill in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook (intermediate level)
Skill in Adobe Pro (intermediate level)
Skill in negotiating and resolving complex allocation disputes
Skill in presenting matters to the Plans' various committees
Ability to analyze complex agreements
