The Manufacturing Safety Intern will support the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team in promoting a safe workplace, gaining hands-on experience with safety programs, audits, training, and incident prevention initiatives.

Responsibilities

Assist with workplace safety inspections and hazard identification
Support incident, near-miss, and injury investigations
Help maintain safety documentation, records, and reports
Participate in job safety analyses (JSAs) and risk assessments
Assist with safety training materials and employee training sessions
Support compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
Track and analyze safety metrics (e.g., incident rates, audit findings)
Participate in safety committee meetings and improvement projects
Assist with PPE programs and safety signage updates

Required

Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Manufacturing, or a related field
Strong interest in workplace safety and manufacturing operations
Basic knowledge of OSHA or safety principles (coursework acceptable)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to walk manufacturing floors and wear required PPE
Ability to lift up to [e.g., 25 lbs] if necessary

Preferred

Prior internship or coursework related to safety or manufacturing
Familiarity with safety management systems or audits
Strong communication and teamwork skills
