JPMorgan Chase is one of the oldest financial institutions, and they are seeking an Operational Risk Management Lead Vice President to support the North America J.P. Morgan Payments Line of Business. The role involves providing second line oversight and assessing compliance and operational risk in connection with new Payments products, technologies, and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

Interact with senior business and functional stakeholders in connection with the development and implementation of new and updated products and services, new vendor relationships, and the onboarding of new clients

Represent J.P. Morgan Payments CCOR at control forums and other business meetings

Lead and participate in ongoing second line of defense risk assessment activities including CCOR led risk & control reviews and first line of defense projects

Identify unmitigated or partially mitigated risks, which can result in financial, operational or regulatory risks for the firm

Provide credible challenge to the first line of defense to ensure risk is sufficiently mitigated and issues are escalated appropriately

Review new business initiatives and assessing their operational risk implications

Partner with global Compliance and Operational Risk colleagues and engaging other control functions e.g. Legal, Risk, Audit, Finance and Controls

Required

Experience in operational risk or another control function (compliance, audit, internal controls)

Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to establish credibility with senior business and functional leads

Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills and the ability to manage several simultaneous projects

Strong execution skills, involving project management like disciplines to ensure resolution and delivery

Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels both orally and in writing, including the ability to operate in a complex organizational structure

Self-starter and strongly motivated to achieve higher standards over time

Ability to deliver high quality results as part of a geographically dispersed global compliance team
