Administrator In Training (LNFA) - Laurel Court (20952)
Cantex is seeking an Administrator In Training (AIT) to participate in a supervised internship program aimed at becoming a licensed LNFA. The AIT will learn overall facility operations, focusing on leadership in quality patient care, financial operations, human resources, and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities
Serve as an effective representative for the facility, so it is viewed as provider of choice in the community
Make routine rounds throughout the facility from a first-hand observation that an optimum level of patient care is provided, the environment is being maintained in a safe and sanitary fashion, systems are in place, and that employees are appropriately attired and receiving appropriate supervision
Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
Assure facility compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations
Uphold policies pertaining to patient care, caregiving, and support staff, financial control, public relations, and maintenance of physical plant through consultation with the facility management team
Ensure the facility is clean and safe for the comfort, convenience and safety of patients, families, and staff
Partner with Department Managers on recruitment, selection, and training of staff
Meet with Department Supervisors as assigned to review interdepartmental issues, expense control, labor control, and any other pertinent patient and/or environmental issues as appropriate or necessary
Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance and attend “standup” meetings every weekday morning
Assure compliance with the Patients' Bill of Rights
Learn budget management to meet facility needs and regional goals while assisting in preparation of annual operating budget. Achieve at least budgeted earnings expectations
Assist in the evacuation of patients as necessary
Assure therapeutic, recreational, and rehabilitative programs are meeting the social and activity needs of patients
Assure that nutritional needs of patients are met
Assure the provision all ancillary services are either offered or provided to patients
Assist in maintaining timely records and documentation appropriate to Medicaid/Title XIX/Medicare/other reimbursement programs
Assist in an effective community relations program that serves the best interest of the facility and community
Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model
Ensure a working environment that promotes respect and dignity amongst staff, patient population and vendors
Reviews Disaster Preparedness Plan annually with all employees
Partner with Department Managers for employee evaluations on either an annual basis or post-probationary period; as well as provides counsel or disciplinary action when appropriate
Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network’s Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employee's responsibility to enforce it
Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Cantex’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
Perform other duties as directed by the Executive Director
Qualification
Required
Thorough knowledge of applicable state/federal regulations regarding nursing home operations is necessary
Ability to effectively communicate to employees and family members
Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
Preferred
A current and valid state Nursing Home Administrator license is preferred or be eligible to sit for exam after AIT Training
BS/BA degree, in healthcare administration or other related area is preferred
Minimum of one-year supervisory experience overseeing a team of 3 or more is preferred
Strong understanding of market development and financial operations is preferred
