CORRECTIONAL PROGRAMS CONSULTANT

The Florida Department of Corrections is dedicated to facilitating the successful reintegration of inmates into society through comprehensive support and resources. The Correctional Programs Consultant will organize staff training, manage grants, develop contracts, and ensure program compliance and quality.

Responsibilities

Organize staff training, workshops, and meetings for Re-Entry and Transition Services
Assist in monitoring grant awards, reviewing opportunities, preparing applications, and managing the grant application process
Help develop contract scopes and monitoring tools, analyze data, and recommend program improvements
Review best practices in reentry programs, develop requests for proposals, and assist with legislative budget requests and bill analysis
Develop and conduct program monitoring, including onsite visits to ensure quality and compliance
Participate in contract solicitation, development, and review, addressing non-compliance and recommending corrective actions
Provide support to institutional staff, improving decision-making and efficiency, and manage expenditure requests through MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP)
Manage contract changes, review legal impacts, respond to inmate grievances, and ensure contractor performance meets standards

Required

Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must possess two (2) years of experience in re-entry and/or transition services
Must possess two (2) years of administrative experience supervising staff
Must possess two (2) years of correctional agency related analytical research, data analysis, and auditing experience
