Responsibilities

Designing and implementing core security and telemetry technology on Apple's operating systems
Understanding of past, current, and emerging malware and security exploits and applying this knowledge to adding security boundaries and defense mechanisms
Working cross-functionally with other software, hardware, red teams, malware analysts and support teams to provide the best security solutions for Apple’s products
Excellent collaboration and communication skills with partner teams

Qualification

Required

At least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer in a systems programming or kernel development role
Highly competent with at least one systems programming language and secure coding practices, C or C++ as an example
Deep understanding of operating system internals, language runtimes, and compilers
Ability to delivery proven work on tight schedules
BS in Computer Science or equivalent software development experience

Preferred

Initiative to provide architectural mentorship to teams lacking resident security expertise
Ability to critically analyze security properties of a system via a threat model
Red team team mindset when developing security software
