Assistant Project Manager
Hermanson Company is a leading Mechanical Construction company in the Puget Sound area, established in 1979. They are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to provide leadership and direction for successful data center project completion, focusing on quality delivery and profitability while ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.

Responsibilities
Coordinates with and supports the field, client, subcontractors, and vendors
Meets and develops relationships with project foremen, superintendents, customers, engineers, general contractors, and subcontractors
Performs all essential duties and responsibilities in accordance with Hermanson Company standards and procedures, including completing Hermy U Trainings
Assists with one to multiple projects. May manage small projects
Works with manager to create a personal development plan
Develops a working knowledge of the local construction marketplace
Develops technical knowledge on mechanical & plumbing systems, building codes & standards, and Hermanson Construction standards
Performs project coordination duties as necessary, including:
Maintaining current plan set on ACC Build or in Project Folder
Creating base procurement and submittal logs from equipment matrices and Specifications
Gathering and packaging submittals
Issuing submittals and logging
Saving and logging RFIs
Processing purchase orders
Tracking and updating procurement log
Issuing submittal, RFI, and procurement logs
Coordinating journal adjustments with Project Accountant
Setup and track per diem/subsistence payments
Collecting and building Closeout Document Package
Engages with Site Safety to understand safety audit results and develop an awareness of safety on the jobsite
Gains exposure to the BIM and detailing process
Understands construction schedules and how they were developed
Writes subcontracts
Tracks and collects startup, installation verification, and pre-commissioning forms as required per project
Creates Requests for Information (RFIs) as necessary, including relevant sketches. Marks up RFIs on contract documents, including plans and submittals
Develops submittal packages and checks for accuracy compared to drawings and building standards
Drafts equipment POs and checks for accuracy compared to drawings, submittals, quotes, and building standards
Assesses drawing updates and determines if there are scope impacts
Updates project budgets through budget revisions and updates change order logs
Understands the basics of estimating
Quantity/Material takeoffs of engineered drawings
Conceptual estimating from architectural drawings or no drawings at all
Calculates and draft change orders as required within
Understands how to complete and present monthly financial reports (ECAC/stats)
Walks assigned projects regularly
Establishes and ensures that a document control system is in place and updated on a regular basis throughout all projects
Establishes relationships with Foremen, Project Managers and Project Coordinators
Qualification
Required
At least 5 - 10 years of successful experience in the mechanical construction industry in capacities that would provide direct experience and exposure to project manager duties
Technical skills in programs such as ACC Build, MS Office, Bluebeam Revu, D365 or similar
Familiarity with estimating, project management, engineering functions and practices
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to positively influence and persuade others
Efficient time management skills
Works with a sense of urgency
Disciplined, strategic thinker who quickly develops a holistic view of Hermanson's business, building and nurturing key relationships focusing on desired outcomes, creating competitive advantage for the whole company

Ability to support field personnel and service customers on projects, which may require full-time presence on the site and flexibility regarding hours and location of work
Ability to walk and maintain balance over rough, icy, or muddy ground, climb stairs and ladders, work safely at heights without fear, and to work effectively while exposed to the weather for long periods
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or Engineering is preferred, or equivalent education and experience
