Program Coordinator
The New Mexico Department of Health is dedicated to advancing health equity and improving health outcomes for all people in New Mexico. The Program Coordinator will engage and educate diverse communities to prevent nicotine use, build partnerships, and support equitable public health efforts through outreach, education, and advocacy.

Responsibilities
Education and outreach to communities, community organizations, state agency programs, health councils, and other interested stakeholders across New Mexico
Provide support to the southeast region of New Mexico and other regions, as needed
Using evidence-based programs and initiatives to advance health equity
Promoting and communicating NUPAC and NMDOH's initiatives
Developing and negotiating scopes of work for contracts supporting efforts of the program
Monitoring and providing oversight of contracted activities to ensure deliverables are completed within the timeline specified
Providing technical assistance and support to contractors and stakeholders to enhance implementation of programs and services
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in health education, community health, public health, or other health-related field of study
Experience in and knowledge of public health principles and approaches
Moderate to advanced writing skills for a variety of audiences
Moderate to advanced public speaking skills
Associate's degree and two (2) years of experience program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position
Any combination of education and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Preferred
Master's degree a plus
Experience in grant writing a plus
Experience working towards achieving health equity in priority populations, including tribal communities
