Law Practice
Responsibilities
Help parents involved with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Ensure that families receive the necessary support to address concerns raised by DCF
Work to minimize the emotional trauma caused by the removal of children from their homes
Allow the foster care system to concentrate its resources on children who truly need protection
Qualification
Required
Third-year law students, recent law school graduates, and more experienced attorneys are eligible to apply
Excellent organizational, communication, writing, and decision-making skills
Ability to work closely with colleagues as a member of a team and committed to serving the needs of a diverse client base
Preferred
Prior experience with child welfare law is preferred
Experience in one or more core poverty-law practice areas
