Human Resources Specialist VI (Recruitment and Examination) - Oahu

Hawai`i State Judiciary is seeking a Human Resources Specialist VI to join their Staffing Services Division. This role involves managing recruitment and examination activities, providing training and guidance in hiring processes, and supporting strategic workforce planning initiatives.

Responsibilities

Conduct examination and selection activities, including reviewing applications for qualifications and suitability, conducting suitability investigations, administering criminal history checks and post-offer clearances, and preparing related reports
Contribute to improving selection methods and provide training and guidance to interview panels and staff involved in the examination and hiring processes
Serve as a team leader and support the division chief in strategic workforce planning, focusing on researching, planning, coordinating, and overseeing current and future innovation projects and partnerships
Evaluate outcomes, recommend improvements, provide supervision to human resources staff and guidance to program supervisors and administrators on best practices that strengthen workforce and staffing operations

Required

Graduation with a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Three and one-half (3-1/2) years of professional experience in one or any combination of human resources management functions, i.e., recruitment, placement, examinations, position classification, compensation or wage administration, employee management relations and services, employee development, human resources program development and services, labor relations and human resources research
One (1) year of staff specialist or supervisory experience in human resources management or labor relations
Ability to deal satisfactorily with fellow workers and/or operating personnel
Ability to recognize problems in the operation of a human resources program and suggest practical solutions
Experience in planning and directing the work of others, assigning and reviewing their work, advising them of difficult problem areas, timing and scheduling their work, and training and developing new employees

Preferred

Human Resources Generalist professional experience preferred, including work in recruitment, examination, classification, employment suitability assessments, and selection and hiring processes across diverse occupations and job classifications
