Responsibilities
Process Optimization: Analyze and improve manufacturing methods, conduct time/motion studies, and implement new production techniques to boost efficiency and reduce costs
Testing & Quality Control: Perform tests on products and machinery, analyze performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure products meet specifications
Equipment & Machinery: Set up, calibrate, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot production equipment, sometimes programming computer-controlled machines
Collaboration: Work with engineers and production staff to implement changes, resolve problems, and support new product development
Documentation: Keep records of production, maintenance, tests, and process data; may create reports or change orders
Safety: Adhere to safety regulations, use proper safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions
Qualification
Required
A high school diploma or GED required
Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for process planning and 3D modeling
Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities to analyze production data and troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues
The ability to stand for long periods, work in noisy environments, and lift heavy materials (often up to 40 lbs)
Preferred
Two-year technical degree, associate degree or postsecondary certificate in manufacturing technology or a related engineering field preferred
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is highly valued
