OB Associate - Days, 24 hrs/wk

Responsibilities
Maintains professional accountability and technical support for provision of patient care for the OB patients experience
Under the direction of Nursing and Medical Staff, provide a wide variety of duties related to patient care, clerical support and surgical assistance
Works cooperatively with others as part of a team and recognizes the importance of unit goals
Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient and the success of the unit
May assist in operational support tasks including maintenance of patient records, bed control and turnover, patient registration, charge capture, ensuring adequate supplies, phlebotomy, transport of specimens, patient transport, obtain blood glucose, Birth Certificate entry, and other duties as assigned
Support the nursing team and patients by providing supportive care and assistance with ADL's to newborns, childbearing and postpartum patients, pediatric patients, and others as assigned
Maintains calm and works efficiently and effectively through obstetrical emergencies, as part of the team
Qualification
Required
High school diploma, G.E.D. and enrolled in a board-certified nursing program
Prior to employment, the nurse tech shall provide student transcripts indicating they have completed Fundamentals of Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
Provide competency skills list from their learning institution
The nurse tech must remain in good standing with their school of nursing while in this role
BLS Required within one month of hire
Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Preferred
EMT, Paramedic or Previous Patient Care Experience
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Certified Patient Care Tech (CPCT)
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) in the State of Arkansas
