Responsibilities
Perform structural calculations for conventional single-family and multi-family structures with minimal oversight, ensuring compliance with local and international building codes and safety standards
Identify inefficiencies in designs, detailing, and construction feasibility while brainstorming creative and new solutions to overcome challenges identified within 3D Printed Concrete construction practices
Prepare detailed design drawings and specifications for residential projects, integrating cost-effective and sustainable solutions
Build, manage and maintain computer-aided drafting and engineering design models utilizing various programs including Revit, RISA, Tekla, ETABs, or other
Oversee construction progress through dry-in ensuring structural drawing and code compliance while responding to Requests for Information from construction teams
Aide in the research and testing of new material, assemblies, and construction technologies
Collaborate with architects and on-site print and construction teams to ensure seamless integration of designs into a collaborative homebuilding ecosystem
Document design processes, calculations, and revisions to support project transparency and continuous improvement
Participate in team meetings for project goal alignment, brainstorming, workshops, and to stay updated on advancements in construction technology
Conduct quality checks on structural designs to verify accuracy and adherence to specifications
Support the implementation of safe, scalable construction methods
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related technical field
A proven work ethic and a strong commitment to continuous learning—attributes that deliver results beyond traditional education
At least 2 years of experience in civil/structural engineering design, with a preference for residential projects
Familiarity with structural design of building systems and detailing of structures
Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., RAM, RISA, Tekla, etc,) and performing structural calculations
Ability to work independently on conventional designs and collaboratively under PE oversight for advanced structures
Strong communication skills to give and receive direction within a collaborative team environment
A meticulous eye for detail and a results-driven approach to ensuring design accuracy
An owner-driven mindset, taking full ownership of projects and tasks with accountability and initiative
Preferred
Prior construction experience with tools and various materials used in construction
Exposure to 3D printing or advanced panel systems in construction
