Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Management Analyst to join the VCS Program Office Continuous Improvement Team. The role involves overseeing and managing the operational aspects of ongoing projects, developing mechanisms for monitoring project progress, and enabling process improvements to enhance producibility.

Responsibilities

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management
Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports
Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients
Identifying, analyzing, and enabling process improvements to enhance producibility
Engaging with other NNS teams and deckplate personnel to build relationships and seek areas for improvement

Required

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate, Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience, Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience, High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience, High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Preferred

Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, other STEM, deckplate or construction, and/or project management experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams
Process improvement and project management experience
Knowledge of the VCS Program and submarine construction
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions
Proven experience in process improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
Strong organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Experience developing methods to monitor project progress and other key performance indicators
Familiarity with SAP, Inventor, DDMS
