Responsibilities
Assists with successfully communicating campus news to employees and stakeholders
Plans, edits and writes content for the internal e-newsletter
Works closely with the senior communications specialist to ensure internal messages are consistent across all mediums and with external communication messages
Assists with other digital content creation
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College
Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment
Must be in good conduct standing with Georgia Gwinnett College and maintain good conduct for the duration of employment
Applicant must major in English
Applicant must be in their third or fourth year at GGC
Applicant should have an interest in journalism, marketing, communications or related fields
Ability to write articles or other content
Familiarity with content management systems
Experience collaborating with teams
Ability to identify interesting news stories, interview subjects and create compelling news in a succinct manner
Ability to apply critical thinking to assess and resolve problems
Preferred
Familiarity with AP Style writing guidelines
Familiarity with editorial calendars
Basic understanding of Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office
Basic understanding of Section 508 Compliance
