Director, Business Development - Transit

Responsibilities
Develops and executes business plan related goals in achieving / exceeding revenue and bookings
Develops / advances strategic business and political relationships within target customer leadership, regional transport authorities, regional political leaders, etc
Advise on digital marketing strategy, leveraging channels, tools and social media to develop new business, especially as focused on target clients
Develops and executes opportunity specific capture plans and strategies to ensure customer engagement is being performed based on best practice
Influences to ensure the right level of internal support is obtained to place Iteris / Almaviva in a leading position, maintaining a productive relationship with the business, product and engineering teams
Develops thought leadership, including issuing white papers to position Iteris / Almaviva as a leader in NAM
Exemplar CRM administration discipline (Salesforce), performing appropriate, accurate and realistic reporting and forecasting utilizing CRM data – leading by example
Helps oversee the timely production and compilation of quality written submissions for pre-qualification documents and tender quality statements
Ensures our solutions and product teams have access to clients and market influencers such as Consultants
Improves competitive position by recommending new applications of systems, providing information on the technical development of systems and assisting in program planning
Maintains a thorough understanding of products, price to win, competition, market forces and customer needs in NAM transportation
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business management, Marketing, Information Technology, etc. or related field / relevant experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in software and solution sales plus delivery management in the transportation / public
Proven track record of managing large-scale software / hardware pursuits and leveraging customer relationships
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage cross-functional teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach
Deep understanding of public sector sales processes and customer engagement strategies within the Transportation ecosystem
Willingness to travel to meet with customers and internal teams, including internationally - both as needed
