Seasonal - Program Coordinator - Unit Leader - Bryant Pond 4-H Learning Center
The University of Maine is seeking a Program Coordinator - Unit Leader at the Bryant Pond 4-H Learning Center, where the role focuses on leading youth in environmental education and outdoor activities. The coordinator will oversee staff and campers, plan activities, and work closely with the Camp Directors to deliver educational experiences.

Supporting all programming at the Bryant Pond 4-H Camp and Learning Center
Mentoring staff
Covering staff off time
Planning and leading activities
High ropes course support
Working closely with the Camp Directors to plan and deliver high-quality educational experiences
Qualification
Required
You need a High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
You need a minimum of 3 years related experience working with youth and teaching in the outdoors or equivalent
You need to hold an additional certification that is value-added to keep our campers safe like: CPR and First Aid certifications/willingness to receive training
You need to hold an additional certification that is value-added to keep our campers safe like: Lifeguard certification
Genuine compassion for and ability to get along well with children of all ages
Preferred
You hold a higher additional certification that is specific to the outdoors like: Wilderness Responder Certification
You have a genuine motivation to work with children in a vibrant, high-energy outdoor setting where every day is an adventure
You demonstrate responsible and safe decision-making skills, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for all campers during outdoor programming
You have the ability to lead groups in various outdoor environments, comfortably carrying a small backpack filled with teaching supplies and a first aid kit to support your activities
