Manufacturing Engineer

Technique, Inc. is a Michigan-based leader in precision stamping, tubing, and welding, serving aerospace, automotive, medical, and food processing industries. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and improvement of mechanical components, systems, and equipment while collaborating with various teams to ensure manufacturable solutions that meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems from concept through production
Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software in accordance with company and industry standards
Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection to ensure performance, safety, and durability
Support prototyping, testing, validation, and design verification activities
Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, assembly, and cost efficiency
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
Troubleshoot design, manufacturing, or field issues and implement corrective actions
Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, specifications, and change requests
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
Support new product introductions (NPI) and engineering change processes
Work closely with suppliers and vendors on component design, sourcing, and technical requirements as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
2–7 years of experience in mechanical or design engineering (manufacturing or industrial environment preferred)
Experience with product design, equipment design, or tooling/fixture design
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)
Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
Experience with GD&T and engineering drawing standards
Ability to perform basic stress, thermal, and motion analysis
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
