Responsibilities

Supervise and manage the payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing in compliance with all government regulations
Provide advice, coordination, and workflow management to the payroll team
Manage union payroll processing and employee payroll master data, ensuring accurate classification and accounting of employee earnings
Determine appropriate tax jurisdictions and document deductions in accordance with federal and state laws and collective bargaining agreements
Update system data as needed and enter accurate HR information into the payroll system
Analyze timecard data and input it into the computerized payroll system
Maintain confidentiality of all company, employee, and customer data
Process payroll accurately and submit files to the bank promptly, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements
Scan, archive, or file payroll-related documents following approved policies
Respond to management and employee inquiries accurately and timely

Required

Must sit in St. Louis, MO (hybrid schedule)
MUST HAVE CERTIFIED/UNION PAYROLL
Expertise in payroll processing, union payroll, certified payroll, and multi-state payroll
Proficiency in Excel and payroll software, preferably eCMS
Associate degree in business administration, accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum 5-7 years of payroll processing experience
Experience with multistate withholding, union reporting, and prevailing wage laws
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
High level of integrity, dependability, and professionalism

Preferred

Bachelor's degree and Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred
Knowledge of the construction industry is a plus
Minimum 1 year of experience directly managing people preferred
Experience working with confidential information
High quality documentation and report preparation skills
Effective collaboration, organizational, customer service, and relationship-building skills
Strong leadership, coaching, training, and mentoring skills
Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with all levels, including senior management
