Responsible for new hire onboarding, payroll initiation, and I-9 processing
Troubleshoots discrepancies and maintains accurate payroll records
Responsible for MyTime timecard sign-off, transfers, and setup
Verifies check advice and accurate/timely employee pay
Works closely with faculty and accounting to ensure correct grant effort, expenditures, and distribution transfers
Works closely with senior accounting personnel on other projects as requested
Prepares ad-hoc reports on an as-needed basis

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, plus one year related experience or equivalency (two years of related work experience can be substituted for one year of education) required
A thorough understanding of general ledger accounting practices, cost analysis and accounting principles
Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, human relations and effective communication skills
Responsible for new hire onboarding, payroll initiation, and I-9 processing
Troubleshoots discrepancies and maintains accurate payroll records

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description
Preferred
Experience in University accounting preferred
Knowledge of PeopleSoft or Access databases may be preferred in some areas
Must be organized and able to meet deadlines
Must be able to work independently and use good judgment
