Grant Budget Analyst

Family & Children's Association is seeking a Grant Budget Analyst responsible for managing and overseeing grants and contracts funded by various government agencies and private foundations. The role involves budget management, revenue forecasting, and financial analysis to support the organization's operational goals.

Responsibilities

Maintain government and foundation grants and contracts, including tracking critical dates for contract renewals, budget modifications, and reporting deadlines
Partner closely with program leadership and the contracts team to review budget reports, analyze revenues and expenditures, and prepare forecast adjustments to ensure spending remains within budget and revenue targets are met
Coordinate with Payroll and General Accounting to adjust personnel allocations and Other Than Personal Services (OTPS) costs for accurate contract billing and vouchering
Manage the full grant and contract budgeting lifecycle, including coordinating with program leadership and development staff on budget preparation for new funding proposals
Assist with the preparation of the annual agency-wide operating budget
Utilize federal, state, and local government portals to request drawdowns and submit required financial reports
Stay current on funder reporting requirements and compliance standards; attend funder training and bidder conferences as needed
Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models and budgets using Excel and NetSuite
Assist with the annual agency audit, including the Federal Single Audit

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in budgeting and financial analysis within a nonprofit organization
Experience working with government-funded grants and contracts
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate budgets, identify variances, and recommend solutions
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to program, fiscal, and executive staff, as well as external stakeholders
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word

Preferred

Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems strongly preferred
