Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking a Content Specialist for EL Professional Learning to provide leadership and support in implementing instructional strategies. The role involves collaborating with staff to design and deliver professional development aimed at achieving deeper learning in classrooms.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with and builds capacity of department staff to utilize research-based best practices to support schools with achieving a culture of deeper learning

Provides professional development and coaching for equitable and culturally responsive environments in support of deeper learning, to include project-based learning, performance assessments, and personalized learning

Collaborates with curriculum leaders to make certain all student needs and experiences are affirmed and included in the curriculum. Further collaborates with curriculum leaders to support the development and implementation of curriculum aligned to deeper learning

Collaborates with key staff and external partners to develop, implement, reflect on, and refine professional learning plans in support of deeper learning

Employs effective coaching strategies based on research and best practices

Required

Bachelor's Degree

At least three (3) years' successful teaching experience

Holds or is eligible for a Virginia Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in English as a Second Language

Knowledge of what constitutes effective teaching and learning

Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills necessary for building strong rapport and relationships with teachers and administrators

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Uses a team approach and collaboration to accomplish tasks and promote collaboration to improve instruction and student learning

Knowledge of effective teaching and learning including: culturally responsive instruction, deeper learning, and other student-centered instructional frameworks
