Responsibilities
Develop, design, code, and implement next-generation deployment automation using system/software engineering best practices and the latest technologies:
DevOps (Jenkins, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker)
Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code (UrbanCode Deploy, Ansible, Scripting)
Administer IBM WebSphere Application Server including installing, migrating, upgrading, deploying, troubleshooting, and configurating on Linux
Provide engineering contributions in one or more of these areas: software deployment, application monitoring and performance tuning, Microservice architecture, container orchestration, security, or auto-scaling & application reliability engineering
Work closely and collaboratively with a small tightly knit high performing team of Leidos engineers and customer technical leads
Investigate and repair application defects with development team regardless of component: front-end, business logic, middleware, CI/CD pipeline, or database (PL/SQL and Data Modeling). Triage Java exceptions and tune JVM/application server
Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written and oral skills at appropriate technical level for audience
All other duties as assigned or directed

Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or a related field
Master's or doctorate degree may substitute for required experience
8 years of combined experience with software development including deployment, automation, systems/application analysis and design
3+ years of combined experience with Application Server Administration (WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Liberty)
2+ years of combined experience with UrbanCode Deploy
1+ year of experience with Ansible automation
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement
Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week
Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server or Liberty administration in Linux
Solid experience automating application deployments for WebSphere using IBM UrbanCode Deploy
Strong experience in automating tasks scripting languages like Shell, Python
Experience developing build scripts using Apache Ant and Apache Maven
Basic experience with configuration management and provisioning tools (Ansible automation, CloudFormation / Terraform)
Basic knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration
Solid experience with version control software such as Git/Bitbucket
Basic knowledge with Java EE, Java generics, and concurrent programming
Excellent communication and written skills
Preferred
Experience using Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins
Knowledge of IBM Content Manager administration
AWS cloud certifications
Experience with configuring and using Splunk or other log aggregator
Solid experience with PaaS using Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes and Docker containers
Solid experience with Spring Framework (Boot, Batch, Cloud, Security, and Data)
Solid knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, DB2), and SQL
Experience with modern development software, tools, and methodologies
Experience working on Agile projects and understanding Agile terminology
Experience with DevOps and toolset (Git/Bitbucket, Docker, Jenkins, SonarQube)
