Responsibilities
Analyze and investigate application issues, batch errors, and data discrepancies
Perform requirements analysis and clarification with business units and SMEs
Translate business and legislative requirements into testable work items and specifications
Manage and maintain Azure DevOps (ADO) work items, including tasks, user stories, and defects
Support ad-hoc data analysis and reporting requests
Participate in business meetings to clarify issues, scope, and expected outcomes
Support legislative and regulatory changes impacting DESE systems
Assist with forms, notices, and batch-related issue analysis
Provide documentation updates supporting application specifications and system changes
Develop and execute unit, system, regression, and integration test cases
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning and execution
Perform batch processing and nightly run validation
Validate fixes, enhancements, and system upgrades prior to release
Conduct accessibility (508/ADA) compliance testing
Document defects, test results, and corrective actions in ADO
Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects
Support resolution of help desk tickets related to testing and validation
Contribute to weekly and monthly status reporting
Support deliverable documentation required for State acceptance
Coordinate closely with the Project Manager to ensure timely issue resolution
Qualification
Required
5+ years' experience with Azure DevOps (ADO)
5+ years' experience with test cases/test plans
5+ years' experience with regression testing
5+ years' experience with white box/black box testing
5+ years' experience with 508/ADA compliance testing – Wave tool
5+ years' experience with responsive design testing
5+ years' experience with traceability matrix creation and usage
5+ years' experience with creating test scripts
5+ years' experience with ability to teach a team on testing procedures that testing starts through the entire lifecycle
5+ years' experience with meeting legal and company standards with regard to date, applications, etc
5+ years' experience with basic understanding of project lifecycles/SDLC
5+ years' experience with knowing waterfall and agile methodologies and where/why to use them
5+ years' experience with deep understanding of documentation of testing processes and creation of testing artifacts
5+ years' experience with knowledge of acceptance testing methods
3+ years' experience with knowledge of security testing methods
3+ years' experience with knowledge of usability testing
3+ years' experience with knowledge of functional testing methods
3+ years' experience with basic SQL knowledge for cross-testing
Strong experience in Quality Assurance Testing and application support
Demonstrated experience in Business Analysis and requirements documentation
Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO)
Experience with batch processing and data-driven systems
Experience with regression and UAT testing
Familiarity with SDLC methodologies (Agile & Waterfall)
Strong communication and documentation skills
Experience supporting government or regulated environments preferred
