Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and isolate server issues using Linux-based tools and logical break/fix methodologies
Order, replace, and install server components; return defective parts to vendors
Perform firmware updates to ensure servers are running the latest versions
Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers
Support network administrators with tasks such as:
Replacing damaged or broken cables
Re-routing cables to alternate ports
Replacing optics on server and switch ports
Installing upgraded server components
Temporarily rack, stack, and cable servers or switches to enable remote configuration by network teams
Provide targeted assistance to network admins requesting hands-on support
Perform Level 1 duties as needed, including rack/stack and deployment support
Qualification
Required
2–3 years of hands-on Datacenter Technician experience
Strong ability to independently troubleshoot and isolate server issues using Linux
Experience with rack/stack, server configuration, and datacenter hardware installation
Proficiency with cabling, wiring, and physical infrastructure tasks
Ability to collaborate effectively with network teams
