Responsibilities
Design and implement database schemas for:
User profiles and preferences
Authentication and authorization data
Social interactions (follows, saves, collections, activity)
Orders, transactions, and events (if applicable)
Define migrations, indexes, and relationships
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and performance
Implement secure handling of user credentials and sensitive data
Manage backups, recovery, and data versioning
Work closely with Backend, Security, and AI teams
Support analytics and feature experimentation
Qualification
Required
Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar)
Solid understanding of schema design and normalization
Experience supporting user-centric applications
Understanding of access control and data security
Comfortable owning the data layer end-to-end
Startup mindset: precise, accountable, pragmatic
Preferred
Experience with ORMs (Prisma, Sequelize, etc.)
Familiarity with NoSQL or event-based systems
Knowledge of GDPR or basic data compliance concepts
