Summer Student Nurse Intern Program (SNIP) 2026
Good Samaritan is dedicated to providing trusted healthcare and is offering a Summer Student Nurse Intern Program (SNIP) for nursing students. This full-time, eight-week paid internship allows participants to work alongside Registered Nurse preceptors and engage in hands-on learning across various nursing departments.

Responsibilities
Increase clinical competence and judgment by observing care in various clinical areas
Provide direct patient care and perform clinical nursing skills under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
Refine communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team
Strengthen skills in critical thinking, decision-making, delegation, prioritization, organization, documentation, and teamwork
Develop professional relationships with staff
Demonstrate increased professional accountability
Seek learning experiences proactively
Explore—at a pre-professional level—the scope of professional nursing practice
Engage in professional discussions and activities during weekly Lunch & Learns
Participate in a Summer Showcase at the conclusion of the program (selected applicants)
Qualification
Required
Enrolled in an accredited pre-licensure registered nursing program (bachelor's or associate degree program) with an expected graduation date of Dec 2026, Spring 2027, or Summer 2027
Verified academic standing by submission of unofficial school transcript, minimum GPA of 3.4
Have a strong desire and intent to join the Good Samaritan nursing team post-graduation
Be able to work 30-40 hours (8-hour to 12-hour shifts) a week for the duration of the 8-week internship, including night shift
Attend all days of required orientation. An orientation is scheduled during the week of the start of the program for those new to Good Samaritan, if unable to attend a prior orientation offering
Submit an unofficial school transcript
Submit a resume
Submit two letters of recommendation from nursing school faculty members
Submit a personal statement (essay, 300–500 words): Why did you choose nursing as a profession? What are your long-term career goals for post-graduation? Why do you want to be a Good Samaritan Nurse? How would being selected as a Good Samaritan Summer Student Nurse Intern support you in achieving those goals?
