The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) is dedicated to improving mobility and transportation choices across Virginia. They are seeking a Sr. Compliance Review Analyst to ensure compliance of grantees' expenditures with federal and state guidelines, while also verifying the accuracy of financial data provided by grantees.

Responsibilities

Develop and support the agency’s mission

Provide assurance as to the compliance of grantees' expenditures with DRPT, Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and Rail Program guidelines

Ensure the financial information, operating performance data, and vehicle tracking provided by grantees is materially accurate and complete

Test grantee expenditures to ensure compliance with federal programs and DRPT guidelines

Account for several hundred grants each year using detailed project and cost codes

Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Background or experience in such areas as auditing, accounting, business administration, or finance

Experience in professional level of accounting or auditing positions conducting financial, operational, and compliance audits is desired, or equivalent combination of training and experience

Ability to conduct on-site and virtual compliance reviews/audits

Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret financial data

Experienced in documenting audit findings

Working knowledge of GAAP and auditing principles

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google applications

Ability to gather and review data from accounting systems, grants management systems, and/or related sources
