The Volunteer Lawyer Program of Northeast Indiana (VLP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to civil legal services for low-income individuals and families. VLP is seeking a Client Services & Intake Coordinator to serve as a front-line member of their legal services team, facilitating client access and supporting program operations.

Law Practice

Responsibilities

Serve as a primary point of contact for individuals seeking legal assistance
Conduct structured client intakes and eligibility screenings
Enter and maintain accurate case records in a legal case management system
Prepare and coordinate client files for legal clinics and program services
Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, judges, volunteers, and partner organizations
Provide reception and front-office support as needed
Assist with clinic logistics, documentation, and post-clinic file processing
Support additional programs, outreach efforts, and special projects as assigned

Required

Associate's degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Strong client-facing or customer service experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and organizational ability
Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism
Reliable attendance and ability to work on-site during regular business hours

Preferred

Experience in a legal office, legal aid organization, court system, or nonprofit setting
Paralegal, legal assistant, or intake specialist experience
Familiarity with legal or social services case management systems
Experience conducting structured interviews or eligibility screening
