Responsibilities

Monitor security logs, events, and assessments to detect threats and respond accordingly

Conduct vulnerability testing and risk analysis

Analyze security incidents and breaches to determine root cause and recommend mitigation strategies

Maintain and upgrade security measures, policies, and controls

Manage and/or monitor endpoint security, intrusion prevention, SEIM, MDM, MFA, NAC, forensic, and other security tools

Ensure security tools are updated and tuned

Write security reports, incident analysis, assist in policy creation, incident response plans and playbooks, training programs, and other security related documents

Develop and enforce data classification and retention policies

Stay current on emerging cybersecurity technologies and best practices

Proactively identify areas to improve the organization’s security posture

Engage in ethical hacking to identify potential system weaknesses
