Responsibilities
Ensure the Microsoft Cloud businesses achieve the gross margin targets by proactively optimizing our roadmap investments from targeted hardware solutions
Transform complex data into clear, forward looking insights that guide strategic decision making
Communicates key trends and recommendations to senior leadership and develops actionable plans from ambiguous or long term analyses
Coaches the team to simplify data into compelling, actionable narratives and builds shared understanding across business partners
Drives culture, inspires, and prioritizes team to pursue innovation
Applies advanced understanding of Microsoft business, industry, and drivers of shareholder return to ensure senior leaders are presented with the most relevant data, insights, risks, and recommendations necessary to support strategy execution
Leverages business expertise to attract and inspire talent and help others reach their full potential
Evaluates and recommends potential impacts of changes to business models
Partners with senior business and commercial leaders to drive performance and strategy to achieve the best return on investment (ROI) and shareholder return
Gains commitment from stakeholders to align execution and mitigate risk
Guides team to focus on generating actionable business insights to drive profitable growth and shareholder return by being an integral part of the business decision-making process
Partners across boundaries to remediate and resolve complex issues
Managers deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring
Provides direction to key stakeholders with respect to financial management, resource prioritization and optimizing headcount
Leads business analytics, modeling, and research activities determining present and future financial performance, formulating and evaluating financial plans (e.g., expected returns, resource allocation, pricing, investment opportunities, revenue, operational metrics, productivity metrics), economic transactions (e.g., customer deals, commercial partnerships, acquisitions), and future opportunities
Qualification
Required
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience
This role follows a hybrid work model and is based in Redmond, Washington. Employees are expected to work on-site in Redmond on a regular, recurring basis in alignment with business and team needs
Preferred
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 12+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 15+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR equivalent experience
3+ years experience managing direct reports
5+ years experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles
5+ years work experience in matrix-based organization
5+ years work experience in the technology or software industry
Prior experience in product cost and/or product development finance is highly valued
