Conduct routine inspections and performance assessments, offering coaching and recognition to strengthen team confidence and capability
Encourage creative problem-solving and continuous improvement, empowering staff to contribute ideas that elevate department operations
Plan, organize, and direct all departmental functions to maintain a safe, high-quality environment aligned with hospital and regulatory standards
Establish efficient workflows, service expectations, and policies that support consistency, reliability, and measurable performance outcomes
Partner closely with hospital administration and departmental leaders to ensure seamless coordination and timely service delivery
Use data and feedback to refine processes, anticipate needs, and proactively support the hospital’s operational goals
Develop and manage the department’s operating budget, monitoring expenditures and financial performance with precision
Analyze operational metrics, financial reports, and quality data to guide decisions that balance efficiency with high standards of care
Ensure strict adherence to safety, regulatory, and accreditation requirements including OSHA, The Joint Commission, and internal compliance systems
Maintain quality control tools, documentation, and reporting structures that support evidence-based decision-making
Champion a service-oriented culture focused on patient satisfaction and exceptional environmental quality
Communicate clearly and consistently across all levels of the organization, ensuring transparency and alignment with facility goals
Lead department initiatives that support Total Quality Management and contribute to long-term operational improvements
Build trusting relationships with cross-functional partners, reinforcing a unified approach to hospital operations
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising both salaried and hourly team members
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and various software platforms
Willingness to relocate for future advancement opportunities
Preferred
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Six years of environmental services or housekeeping leadership experience in a healthcare environment
Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and apply insights
Demonstrated success in high-pressure settings with defined performance goals
Effective public speaking and presentation abilities
Experience with collaborative leadership, budget development, and operational planning
High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Multilingual abilities, especially Spanish, are a plus
Working knowledge of OSHA, The Joint Commission, and similar regulatory standards
