Communications and Social Media Manager

They are seeking a passionate and experienced Communications and Social Media Manager to lead efforts in building awareness and community around their programs through comprehensive communication strategies, media relations, and innovative social media campaigns.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement media relations strategies to position the organization and its Executive Director as a thought leader in digital wellness and youth technology safety
Cultivate relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers, and media outlets to secure meaningful coverage and integrate the organization’s message into ongoing coverage
Create story ideas and pitches that resonate with target audiences and advance organizational goals around awareness and program adoption
Lead content development across all platforms with a strong focus on SEO to drive visibility and site visits
Create compelling narratives that connect with the concerns and interests of parents, teens, educators, and policymakers around digital media and mental health
Develop editorial calendars and ensure consistent, high-quality content production
Generate, distribute, and measure effectiveness of email marketing campaigns, including an ongoing newsletter
Design and execute social media campaigns that engage audiences and amplify the organization’s perspective on technology and youth mental health
Monitor social media trends and conversations to inform strategy and identify/act upon engagement opportunities
Analyze campaign performance and adjust strategies based on data-driven insights

Required

6-8 years of experience in communications, public relations, content development, or social media management
Proven track record of developing successful story ideas, content strategies, and social media campaigns that deliver on an organization's strategic priorities
Familiarity with influencer and affiliate marketing strategies to drive awareness and program adoption
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
Understanding of SEO best practices and content optimization
Experience with social media analytics and reporting tools

Preferred

A passion for helping families safely navigate the digital world
Familiarity with current trends in the impact of technology adoption and digital media on the mental health of youth and families
Ability to develop and deliver graphics for social media and website use
Strategic thinker with strong execution skills and attention to detail
Proactive/opportunistic approach to creating impact and driving growth
Adaptable and comfortable working as an individual contributor with a dynamic variety of tasks and objectives each week
