Responsibilities

Represent clients in family law matters including divorce, child custody, and support issues

Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw to support case strategies

Draft and file legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements

Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients while advocating for their best interests

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations affecting family law cases

Collaborate with other attorneys on complex cases involving areas in family law such as divorce, custody, and support matters

Provide guidance on divorce, custody, and support matters as they relate to family law issues

Engage in litigation when necessary, representing clients in court proceedings

Build strong relationships with clients by providing clear communication and support throughout the legal process

Required

3-5 years of any courtroom/litigation experience

Excellent negotiation skills

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Admission to the state bar and in good standing

Experience in law with 3-5 years of litigation experience

Preferred

Specific family law litigation experience

Family law experience

Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful settlements

Proficient in legal research and writing; familiarity with Westlaw is essential

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
