Responsibilities
Produces and edits visual media for all members of the House Republican caucus
Operate and maintain an on-site studio for video shoots, podcasts, press conferences and other events
Attend House voting sessions, committee meetings and occasional in-district events around the state to record events
Help legislators communicate what’s happening at the Capitol to constituents at home
Manage scheduling studio time and prepared shoots for 58 Republican legislators
Be part of the team that prepares and manages the Speaker of the House’s regular press conferences at the Capitol
Draw heavily on a videographer’s skills as a shooter and also their skills as a creative and efficient editor
Ensure timely shoots and quick turnarounds for all sorts of varied content
Maintain a high level of confidentiality
Qualification
Required
Experience composing, capturing, and editing videos is required
Must be comfortable functioning in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment
Experience managing different personalities and a multitude of issues is required
Must be able to learn House rules, policies, and guidelines
Must be able to develop an understanding of legislative districts and state political processes
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
State government or other relevant experience preferred
Familiarity handling a demanding schedule preferred
