Responsibilities

Research, test, and implement new materials and processes to enhance casting cost efficiency and quality
Conduct special process audits of casting suppliers to ensure adherence to standards
Assist supply management and design teams with casting failure analysis requests through the Casting Center of Excellence
Design, refine, and deliver training programs for casting buyers, foundry employees, and casting designers
Collaborate with University Metal Casting Programs to stay connected with research and contribute to curriculum development

Required

5 or more years of experience in Process Control Monitoring & Improvement
3 or more years of experience with the materials and processes used in, Green Sand Mold Making, Cold Box Core Making, Shot Blast Cleaning
3 or more years of experience with the materials and processes used in a Coreless Induction, Cupola, or Arc melting process
3 or more years of experience performing Casting Defect Analysis
Strong analytic skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to understand multiple, complex requests and negotiate a mutually beneficial plan in a very dynamic environment
Demonstrated ability to mentor other members on team in areas of expertise
Bachelor's degree in Metal Casting, Metallurgy, or Materials Engineering

Preferred

Additive Manufacturing Experience
Six Sigma Green Belt
Experience auditing foundry processes and developing improvement plans
Experience implementing new processes into manufacturing
Experience in foundry tooling design
Experience in iron gating system design
Experience in heat treating processes
