UX/UI Design Intern – EduTrend
EduTrend is a remote-first edtech startup building a behavioral tracking and analytics platform for students with special needs. They are seeking a UX/UI Design Intern to design intuitive and accessible interfaces for educators, focusing on user experience and collaboration with engineers.

Responsibilities
Wireframing & Prototyping: Create low- and high-fidelity prototypes to test ideas quickly and refine flows before development
User Experience Design: Map out task flows for teachers, aides, and behaviorists, focusing on usability and accessibility in classroom conditions
User Interface Design: Produce polished, consistent visuals aligned with our design system (Figma)
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers to translate designs into TypeScript-based React Native components
Design System: Help document and maintain a scalable design system for web and mobile
Accessibility: Design with accessibility as a first-class requirement, ensuring WCAG-aligned practices across layouts, typography, color, and interaction patterns
Feedback Loops: Run informal user testing and incorporate feedback into design iterations
Qualification
Required
Proficiency with modern design tools (Figma strongly preferred)
Strong grasp of UX fundamentals, including usability, accessibility, user journeys, and design thinking processes
Ability to create prototypes and iterate quickly based on feedback
Clear communication and comfort working async in a remote-first team
A portfolio or website showcasing UX/UI work that demonstrates your design thinking and decision-making, available for review
Preferred
Familiarity with React Native or frontend development
Experience building or maintaining design systems
Interest or experience in edtech, health tech, accessibility-focused products, or human-centered design
Graphic design experience (e.g., layout, typography, visual hierarchy, branding), especially as it supports product UI
Demonstrated initiative to learn new tools, domains, or workflows independently and comfort asking questions when needed
