Responsibilities

Monitor performance of equipment and processes, providing troubleshooting and root cause analysis of non-conformances, low yields, or other quality/production issues
Communicate effectively to an audience consisting of peers, operations management, and supporting divisions (R&D, Sustaining Engineering, Project Management, etc.)
Plan, organize and prioritize daily work to meet production and project goals
Apply problem solving and process improvement methodologies to complex and diverse manufacturing processes, across multiple product lines – driving root cause analysis and resolution
Train and/or provide work direction to early-career engineers (Engineer I, interns, etc.), manufacturing operators, and technicians
Recognize quality signals and escalate appropriately within the quality system requirements
Lead projects with cross-functional team members working towards common business goals
Work collaboratively with divisional customer teams (R&D, Sustaining Engineering, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Quality, other) to deliver on new product introductions, change management, process improvements, or business continuity projects
Gather, analyze, and summarize data – drawing conclusions, and reporting out to peers and management
Work with vendors/suppliers on technical design, procurement, and fabrication of materials, equipment, fixturing, etc
Take initiative to identify improvement opportunities, prioritize them, communicate them to the appropriate levels and see them through to completion
Demonstrate resiliency in the face of setbacks; plans appropriately for risks and respond positively to unforeseen problems

Required

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline
Minimum of 2 years of relevant, professional engineering experience; or minimum of 1 year of relevant, professional engineering experience with a Master's degree; or candidates with a PhD in a relevant field, in lieu of industry experience, may be considered eligible
Proven experience in, and/or understanding of, manufacturing problem solving, data analysis, and production flow tools (i.e. LEAN manufacturing)
Proven ability to provide creative solutions and collaboratively draw ideas from cross functional teams
Proven ability to provide mentorship to early-career engineers, operators, and technicians
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering
Prior Boston Scientific experience
Device assembly/testing and packaging systems experience
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
Experience in the medical device industry
Experience with micro electrical connections (welding, soldering, wire prep, etc.)
Experience with automation (pick-and-place, vision systems, etc.) processes
Experience with Windchill and/or MES
