Responsibilities
Independently manage purchasing for the Technical and Auto Parts QA departments
Negotiate contracts with third-party labor suppliers and oversee invoice processing
Lead the competitor tire purchasing process, including international coordination and logistics
Serve as the primary liaison between our U.S. Technical teams and the parent company in Japan
Translate and interpret technical documents and communications between Japanese and English
Provide support during international audits and meetings, including occasional travel to Japan, Taiwan, and Malaysia
Manage customer-facing technical document approvals and sensitive project communications
Host and coordinate visits from international vendors and expatriates
Support quality engineering efforts, including documentation and audit assistance
Additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Fluent in Japanese and English
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Working understanding of automotive quality systems and purchasing processes
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
Strong technical communication skills (oral & written) in English and Japanese
Familiarity with purchasing processes and automotive quality standards
Exceptional attention to detail, discretion, and time management
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or Finance
Minimum of 5 years' experience translating/interpreting tire or automotive industry technical content
5–10 years of professional experience
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos of a highly technical nature in both Japanese and English
Ability to write clear and concise correspondence in both Japanese and English
Ability to translate tire and automotive parts technical documents in Japanese and English
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization in both Japanese and English
Ability to interpret verbal communications between Japanese and English in real time to provide assistance during meetings or small group settings
