SEKA Children's Aide

Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center is seeking a Summer SEKA Children's Aide to provide support to children within a collaborative team setting. This role involves transporting patients and managing service logs and progress notes, while ensuring quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

Turn in all staff daily service logs and roll call sheets directly to office staff via packet, email, or fax as appropriate
Service log and roll call sheets to ensure they are correct and match
Check service logs and roll call sheets to ensure they are correct and match
Review units and times on the logs to ensure they are correct and match
Review and lock all staff progress notes in a timely manner as directed by policy
Ensure narrative part of the note meets quality standard
Ensure that appropriate reference numbers are included for each day, confirmation code, units, time of service, and location are added as applicable
Ensure that on each progress note, the assigned therapist's name for each child is included on the note to be written in the top right-hand corner
Meet with any staff who need additional training
Assist with weekly shopping
Share responsibility in all preparation required for group each day

Required

Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must pass KBI, DCF child & adult abuse check, motor vehicle screen, and background checks
If the position requires the use of a personal vehicle for work purposes, the employee must have reliable, insured transportation that is properly registered and compliant with all applicable state and local requirements
Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to work independently in the community
Proficient with computers and word processing
Regular and punctual attendance is required and is an essential function of this position
This position requires the ability to operate a vehicle as part of routine job functions
This position requires the ability to use a computer and software as part of routine job functions
Employees are expected to perform duties at the designated work location stated in the offer letter unless otherwise noted by your supervisor
Attendance at in-person meetings and training sessions is required, even for remote or hybrid roles, as necessary, unless otherwise noted by your supervisor
Occasional overtime may be required depending on operational needs. Overtime will be compensated in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws
This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs as part of routine job functions
