Asset Liability Manager (ALM)

Nizari PFCU is seeking an experienced Asset Liability Management (ALM) professional to oversee balance sheet strategy, interest rate risk, liquidity management, and capital planning. This role is critical to ensuring the credit union maintains strong financial performance while operating within regulatory and risk-management guidelines.

Responsibilities

Manage and monitor the credit union’s Asset Liability Management (ALM) framework, including interest rate risk, liquidity risk, and capital adequacy
Prepare and present ALM reports, dashboards, and recommendations to senior management and ALCO
Conduct scenario analysis, stress testing, and interest rate shock modeling to assess balance sheet sensitivity
Develop strategies to optimize net interest margin, profitability, and balance sheet structure
Monitor investment portfolio performance and recommend adjustments based on market conditions and risk appetite
Collaborate with Lending, Finance, and Executive teams to align pricing, growth strategies, and funding plans
Ensure compliance with NCUA regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices
Support liquidity contingency planning and funding strategies
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
Participate in regulatory exams and internal audits related to ALM and treasury functions

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master's preferred)
3–7+ years of experience in ALM, treasury, financial risk management, or banking/credit union finance
Strong understanding of interest rate risk modeling, liquidity management, and balance sheet analytics
Experience working with ALM software/tools and financial modeling
Knowledge of NCUA regulations and credit union financial reporting
Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysis
Professional certifications (CFM, CFA, CPA, or similar) are a plus
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Strategic thinking and business acumen
High attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making
Integrity, confidentiality, and sound judgment
