ACCOUNTANT TRAINEE
Caltrans District 3 is seeking a motivated self-starter for the Accounts Payable Trainee position. The role involves reviewing, auditing, and processing invoice payments for purchases made by the Lottery, as well as preparing and posting financial statements.

Reviewing, auditing, and processing invoice payments for purchases made by the Lottery
Preparing and assembling Office Revolving Fund claim schedules
Preparing, processing, and posting monthly, quarterly, and year-end accruals and reconciliations for inclusion in the financial statements
Qualification
Required
This position requires a current Accountant Trainee exam
All Experience and Education relating to the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification should be included to clearly demonstrate how you meet the Minimum Qualifications for the position on your State Application (STD Form 678)
The California State Lottery Act provides that no person may be hired as an employee of the Commission if that person has been convicted of a felony or any gambling related offense
The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired

Preferred
Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other software/technology
Ability to follow established policies and procedures including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to manage and complete multiple priorities
Experience and/or knowledge of full accrual accounting
